Der 54-Jährige machte eine Lehre bei der Graubündner Kantonalbank, war acht Jahre bei einer Privatbank in der Westschweiz, arbeitete vier Jahre im Devisenhandel der Credit Suisse und lernte die Finanzmärkte in der Finanzabteilung des Rohstoffhändlers Marc Rich aus dem Effeff kennen. «Die zwölf Jahre bei Marc Rich waren wichtig, um ein Gespür für die Aktienbörsen zu bekommen», meint Schneller. Mit Rohstoffen habe er nie gehandelt, das sei auch heute keine Anlagekategorie in seinen Kundendepots. Er sei als Vermögensverwalter kein kurzfristiger Trader, sondern mache sich aus fundamentalen Daten eine Marktmeinung über die nächsten sechs bis zwölf Monate.

Dear Colleagues,
Over the last couple of years the firm has had a couple of historic, momentous events since its establishment in 1978, the most notable being “Moving Up” to the Baker Tilly MH Tower in Bangsar South City and the other being the amalgamation of Moore Stephens into the Baker Tilly family, both events celebrated in July 2012. A little more than a year later, on 2nd October 2013, 12 young soldiers created another historic event for the firm when they fought off a few of the big boys to record the firm’s inaugural win at the IAFG games. They are the Baker Tilly Futsal Team.
In a competition that has always been dominated by the Big 4, it has been brought to my attention that this is the first time in the IAFG’s history that a firm outside of the Big 4 has won any of the games. I have never been so proud of what the boys achieved last night. The fight, determination and the comeback shown by the boys after losing a 2-0 lead and a key player due to injury was admirable. I was also told that our supporters at the game were so loud that the players could hear nothing else but the chant “Baker! Tilly! .. Baker! Tilly! .. Baker! Tilly!”. The noise made by the supporters were noticed and admired by the supporters from the other firms.
It has been 14 years since our first participation in the IAFG games in 1999 when Andrew Heng lead the “Monteiro & Heng Basketball Team” with hand written numbers on the back of plain white T-Shirts into competition. From our first participation till today, the comradery was always evident in our players and the supporters which brought everyone closer and has made the firm an attractive place to work for all our people.
Yesterday, Baker Tilly was recognised. Today, we are a firm to be reckoned with both on and off the court.
